WOW! HAVE I MR. FIX-IT HAVE SOME EXCITING NEWS FOR ALL YOU AVID TRAVELERS.
In case all of you readers are not familiar with Mr. Fix-It, I am the person who does all the new and exciting improvements to the Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort. Yeah, when I am not relaxing in one of the cozy comfortable fireplace or whirlpool tub rooms (shhhhh!! Dont tell anyone); I am working on improving the accommodations and construction around the property.

In case, you have not realised it yet, we have improved a whole wing of our resort for allergen free rooms. These rooms are located on the north wing 1st floor of the resort. They have beach access right out the patio doors and are situated in a very comfortable location.

Each room has bamboo wood floors (which works with both our allergen free and our environmental initiatives because bamboo is a renewable resource), a high efficiency Hepasilent air filters, dust mite covers on the beds and pillows, hypo-allergenic linens, & chlorine filters on the showerheads. The cleaning products are all natural ingredients such as baking soda & vinegar. Curtains have been replaced with blinds & we purchased leather furniture to reduce the dust buildup.
Every guest room comes equipped with the items we thought you would need to make you feel at home, such as a refrigerator, coffee maker, coffee mugs, iron & board, hairdryer, & internet access.

I have worked long extrenuous hours on these rooms and I am very sure that for anyone who has allergies that these will be the perfect rooms for you to enjoy. It took me a while and many nailed fingers later (ouch), but these rooms are ready for you to enjoy.

WELL WELL WELL!!! THE SEASON THAT WILL NOT DIE! As some of you are apparantly aware of old man winter is still dumping all kinds of snow on the Lake Placid area. I thought spring was here but apparantly mother nature has other plans and keeps dragging the snow out. Just when you think it is time to put the shovels away; on comes the snow again and again.
Just this Sunday night another 10 inches of fresh wet snow was rained down on us in the area. So, thanks to this recent events, Whiteface mountain is opening another weekend and the conditions could not be better. The slides will be open as well as 40 or more trails. They will open back up on Friday April 20th through the weekend closing on Monday April 23rd. So, all you skiiers dont put away those skis just yet; cause there is more season to be had! As for all of you golf fanatics like myself; hold in there I am sure that we will eventually get to swing that first club sometime in the near future. I am sure that mother nature will not skip us all together this season. lol

ATTENTION!!!! ALL DODGEBALL FANS!!!!

This is Rich your Sportscaster for the Golden Arrow coming at you again with the exciting and heart pounding event that has been taking place at our resort. For the past two months, in our Racquetteball court in the health and fitness center several local teams in the Lake Placid area have been throwing soft rubber balls at each other. We have started the first ever Dodgeball league in Lake Placid and is it ever exciting. I myself played recently and I want to tell you there is nothing like a good workout than dodging several balls coming at you from every angle.

Thanks to my long legs and fast feet though; this is one sport that I thoroughly enjoy and from the response of most of the people it is definetly a great time. Of course, nothing feels great and relieves the tension of the work day than pegging a ball at someone and hitting them anywhere that you feel necessary. Of course, I have been rattled in the brain a few times myself (hehe).

If you have watched the movie Dodgeball you know how exciting and intense these matches can become. Well, we had our Playoffs this past week and two teams now stand in the finals for next weeks exciting game. This action will take place on Tuesday April 10th, 2007 at 7:00 pm.

So, if you are looking for something real exciting and intense (and dont mind seeing people get smacked around with dodgeballs) then stop over to the Golden Arrow and watch this exciting action.
