Well, HOWDY PARTNERS, this is RICH THE SPORTSCASTER here coming to you from the site of the LAKE PLACID AND I LOVE NEW YORK HORSESHOWS. Yes, you got it correct time to saddle up your horses and head to the Lake Placid Horseshow grounds for 2 weeks of riding and excitement. This ole cowboy has his riding chaps on and has his spurs on his cowboy boots. Boy, do they ever get sore (ouch).

Horse enthusiasts and riders from all over the country and other parts of the world will be and have been entering Lake Placid for this horseshow event. These two horseshows will be held from June 26th-July 8th, 2007. There is sure to be lots of excitement and possibly some famous faces around the horseshow grounds.

HELLO EVERYONE! Its Mr. Fix-It again coming to you from the site of our exciting new expansion project. I and the rest of the crew have banging away and reconstructing a brand new section of the hotel and expanding our underground parking garages. Boy, what long days this has been, I am so tired I dont even have time to rest. Believe me Mr. Fix-It is putting in some long hours, but its all worth it.

As promised I have taken shots of the new expansion and I personally will keep you updated with new pics and how progress is going on this big endeavor. Here are a few shots of the site now:

As, you can see there is a lot of work to be done, and believe me it will be done. I cannot wait to see how this all turns out, it will be a long process but it will be totally worth it in the end. Well, I need to jet, stupid me just banged my foot against a steel rod again (OUCH!!!).

Thats right on June 20th, 2007 Charlies is pleased to offer a series of wine pairing dinners fro individuals who are passionate about food and wine. I can tell you I definetly am passionate about food and the ole girl here certainly likes her wine. Charlie’s is featuring wines from upper end boutique wineries from around the world, each dinner showcases a different chef.

And I just got word from MRS. DEAL MAKER that the Golden Arrow has a special package that incorporates this great evening. It is called their Wine, Dine And Refine Package.

$239 per couple includes Deluxe Lodging & reservations for an exclusive wine pairing event featuring Italian Wines paired with a 6-course culinary creation prepared by celebrity Chefs Landell Eaddy & Charles Levitz.

Guests who wish to stay 2 nights are welcome to arrive on Tuesday the 19th & enjoy a scenic boat ride in our handcrafted wooden Gondola. You can spend the day exploring the Village & then partake in the Wine Pairing Dinner on Wednesday evening.
The cost for the two night package is $349 per couple.

Romantic and Fun, our Adirondack Gondola is perfect for giving unique style to your occasion. The Gondola has a CD player which fills the air with enchanting music. If you have a favorite CD, the gondolier will be happy to play it for you. On occasion, our gondoliers have been known to sing along. So be surprised!

FRUIT AND CHEESE PLATTER – Please call in advance to arrange your platter.

MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE- Great for proposals, anniversaries, birthdays or just because.
We will print any message on parchment paper, roll it into a scroll, tie it with red ribbon and drop it into a wine bottle. Sometime during your cruise, your gondolier will present it to your loved one, he or she notices something inside, tugs on the ribbon – out pops the cork and your beautiful message! It is an 8 1/2 X 11 (frameable) scroll so it can be framed for memories. – Advanced notice required.

WATER TAXI – One way trips to any dock on Mirror Lake.

Well everyone it is about time the pets get a say around here and now is our time to speak (BARK!! BARK!!)
This is SAMMY AND CLARK coming at you from our favorite hotel the Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort. Yes, you heard right folks pets are allowed to stay at the hotel.

For a small one time pet fee of $50.00 per stay and on the hotels third floor rooms, you can take your best pal with you whether it be canine or feline. Boy, do we love to chase them cats!!! Do you believe that part of the proceeds of the $50.00 per pet is donated by the Hotel to the Humane Society. Now that is barking right up my alley (WOOF). It is so great now we do not have to be left alone at home wondering whether our masters are ever coming back off their trip. We can join them right at the resort. Hey everyone this is Rich your Sportscaster here coming from the Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort with another exciting event that is just around the corner. For all you long distance runners and who like to push yourself to the limit; we are hosting the Lake Placid Marathon. This exciting and exhausting race is taking place on Sunday June 10th. I personally would enter but they would be picking my body off the pavement after the first few miles!!! Boy, what fun that would be.

But, for all you get up and go getters, this is the perfect race for you and there will be lots of spectators and excitement all around to participate in. We still have a few rooms available for this coming weekend and I am sure that you would enjoy all the facilites that we have to offer as well as the luxurious rooms.
