PUCKS ON THE ICE! CHILDREN PLAYING THEIR HEARTS OUT! ICE RINKS FILLED WITH EXCITEMENT!

Hey, everyone RICH YOUR SPORTSCASTER coming to you from Lake Placid at the Olympic Sporting Arena. It is that time of the year again and children and adults alike ascend into Lake Placid on the weekends for the CANADIAN HOCKEY ENTERPRISE and CAN-AM HOCKEY TOURNAMENTS. For the next few months the area will be bustling with children playing in their leagues against other teams in striving who is the best in hockey. Also, the adults have their chance to strutt their stuff with the hockey gear as well. (of course this sportscaster will stay in the bleachers as I have been hit by a puck before and OUCH does that smart).
These tourneys have been going on for decades and they give everyone who has never been to Lake Placid a chance to experience the fun and excitement of playing in an actual Olympic Complex. Also, the children get to meet some of their hockey heros from time to time and see the site of where the MIRACLE ON ICE took place in 1980. It also gives the children a great experince of playing against teams they never would face. LITTLE Z definetly recommends the CHE tournaments thez iz the best! Yes, Little Z, they are very exciting.
So, if you happen to be driving in to Lake Placid and think hmmm now what is going on in the town and all the excitement in the Olympic Arena. Well, just dont wonder drive that vechicle to the nearest parking spot and stop into the arena and see what all the hockey buzz is about. (hey you never know, you just might see yours truly sitting there taking in all the action). Of course, the hockey skates are not for me as I cherish my body from falling on that unforgiving ice (hehe). For further information on these exciting events please visit www.canamhockey.com or www.chehockey.com and get the latest schedules of the next exciting tourney.
Okay, this sportscaster has got to jet because a puck just came centimeters from my head. (WHEW!!!) I think next time that this boy will sit up on the highest bleachers before somebody takes me out (I am sure no one wants to see that at least I hope). Everyone have an exciting hockey and upcoming Winter Seasons.

GREEN GREEN GREEN! SAVING THE ENVIRONMENT ONE STEP AT A TIME!!!

Welcome everyone to the vast expanding Golden Arrow eco-friendly resort. This is CINDY THE E.F.Q. sprinkling her magic on all aspects of the resort. Popping up great efficient ways to help protect the environment and smell the fresh invigorating air. (Of course, I always make time for yours truly the queen of this resort). But, have to make sure all our guests have a refreshing experience.
Well, the newest project that we are sprucing up on (no pun intended lol). Is the Green Roof Project that is coming very soon by spring of next year. Now I know that we were supposed to be done this project in the fall but we wanted to make sure that the vegetation for this roof was just right. We are letting it grow more in a warmer climate through the winter season so that it can take shape and be perfect for when we put it on in the spring. Now for all of you who do not know what this provides. It is an energy efficient idea that during the summer holds the coolness in and during the winter is a great insulator to keep the heat in. Making sure that you use less electricity to conserve energy. For futher updates on this project and anyother new exciting projects that we are working on to make our resort Eco-Friendly please visit www.golden-arrow.com.

One last thing, better not forget this or the gods that be will strike me down. One of our great people in the resort has been working on some nice Recycled Slate picture frames that will be hanging through out the resort. These will state the different efforts that myself and everyone here are doing to have the environment. SO, CHECK THEM OUT!!!!
Also, please visit www.greenhotels.com and www.ecorooms.com to see what great ideas that these two sites have to offer in protecting the environment. Well, this Queen has got to spread her magic, so all of you out there have a refreshing and pollution-free day. BYE!

I AM RIGHT! ALGONQUIN! NO NO!!! YOU ARE WRONG!!! NORMANDY!
OH BOY! The Pro family and the Con family are at it again! MR. NEUTRAL here, still in the middle of this on going discussion of which rooms are better at the Golden Arrow. SO, I will let these two familes say their peace about their room of choice this time. (This ought to pretty interesting. Can someone pass me an asprin for the migraine that is headed my way)!
The CON COUPLE FAMILY says that another of our favorite Specialty Rooms in the resort has got to be the NORMANDY SPECIALTY ROOM. This is another perfect romantic setting for a loving couple such as ourselves or for those honeymooning or celebrating an anniversary. This luxurious room has a breathtaking view of Mirror Lake from the private balcony. It has a comfortable king size bed with a wood burning fireplace right in the room. To relax those weiry bones it has a two person whirlpool tub in the bath. (AHHHH! How great that feels after a day of hiking and your significant other dragging you from shop to shop). So, please dont listen to the PRO FAMILY cause it is Normandy all the way.

WRONG WRONG WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!! THE PRO FAMILY with my wife and two kids here say that is completely false. For a calming experience for your children and wife the room of our choice has got to be the ALGONQUIN SUITE. This two room suite is perfect for a family of four. It has one room with a king size bed with a wood burning fireplace with a spectacular view of Mirror Lake. Then the kids can retire to their private room with a double bed with its own television while we watch tv in the king room. Also, the fabulous staff has rollaway beds for extra sleeping space. To top off this room, while the kids are playing or arguing you can relax your body in the oversized whirlpool tub in the bath. (THAT IS THE LIFE!) So, the PRO FAMILY will take space anyday over a smaller romantic room.

PRO PRO PRO FAMILY ALL THE WAY!!!! The CON COUPLE IS NUMBER 1 AND CORRECT!!!
Okay, time for me to step in here before there is a brawl in the pool with these two families. Okay, you both have valid points but both rooms are great and offer anyone the type of quality and space they are looking for. So, for Mr. NEUTRAL take it from me, you cannot go wrong with either room. Also, do not forget to visit our website for these room descriptions at www.golden-arrow.com and click on guest rooms. Also, for further information about the Lake Placid area please visit www.lakeplacid.com.
Okay, families back to your corners! Until next time (wish me luck on keeping these families at bay) and I look forward to chatting with all of you about more exciting rooms in the future.

FOLIAGE AT ITS PRIME!!! SKI JUMPING COMPETITION AND FESTIVAL!!!!
AHHH!!! The smell of the autumn leaves in the air and the crisp cooler nights. RICH YOUR SPORTSCASTER back at you with another exciting venue for this upcoming Holiday Weekend. The leaves have peaked and the colors are bright and beautiful (Personally, I have raked some of them into a pile and been letting myself and my dog jump in them, so fun!). Fall is definetly in the air and the final exciting event for the season is approaching.

I, of course, am talking about the annual FLAMING LEAVES FESTIVAL held at the OLYMPIC SKI JUMPING COMPLEX. This festival is for all ages, there will be a 90meter ski jumping competition, pony rides, face painting, vendors, live entertainment, a silent auction and much more. I cannot wait to watch the daredevil ski jumpers take flight in the air and land on simulated wet mats that act as the packed snow. This guy would never in his life fly off that jump, I would more than likely with my luck land on my head (lol). But, it is such enjoyment to watch these soaring eagles take flight.

Do not forget the live entertainment which is going to feature 6 different bands performing on Saturday and Sunday. (OHHHH!!! LA! LA!) MADAME CUISINE here says Rich you better not forget about all the delectable BARBECUE FOOD that is going to be cooking on the grills! This ole girl is going to enjoy every minute of that. “Thanks Madame Cuisine for that timely reminder and hope everything is going well at Charlies!”
“It sure is the staff and I are always cooking up something hot in the kitchen!” (yummy).
Well, anyway still plenty to do in the area this coming weekend, so please all of you head down to Lake Placid and stop in to the Golden Arrow and the Ski Jumping Complex for fun and excitement. For further information on times and dates on this great event please visit www.whitefacelakeplacid.com.
Rich your Sportscaster is out of here and cannot wait for this long weekend (especially because its 3 days off instead of 2). Hope to see all of you at the Flaming Leaves Festival!!!!
