Our pal Mike and A.J. are back for another exciting season of DOG SLED RIDES ON MIRROR LAKE (BARK BARK). LET IT SNOW!! LET IT SNOW!! LET IT SNOW!!

whiteface-pic.gif

Welcome everyone to the winter wonderland that is Lake Placid! Its MR. NEUTRAL coming to you from the Golden Arrow where are lovely disagreeable families are at it again about rooms and snow activites. Before, we get into there differences (believe me my head is aching from all of this), I want to let you all know about all the great snow that is descending on us. Officially, we are expecting 15 inches of fresh snow as I am writing this post. We already received at least over a foot in the past few weeks. (WOW!) Great for all of you winter activity seekers. So, let me see what the PRO AND CON FAMILIES are arguing about this time. Wish me luck!

We the PRO FAMILY think that it is soooo romantic to sit in our nice cozy PANTHER SUITE in front of the fireplace and watch all of this great powder falling. We ordered some tasty food and wine from CHARLIE’S RESTAURANT and are loving this mouth-watering meal. KUDOS! to Madame Cuisine. This is a two room suite with a private bedroom with a king size bed and the sitting room has the wood burning fireplace. To relax our weiry bones after a day of skiing we can relax together in the oversized whirlpool tub. This room is the BEST!

panther-room.jpg

YOU ARE SO WRONG PRO FAMILY! The CON FAMILY with my wife and I and are two lovely children love the SANTANONI SUITE. My kids are enjoying all of the ice skating and skiing at the Kids Kampus at Whiteface Mountain. We found the current ski conditions at www.whiteface.com. THIS SNOW ROCKS! Then after a long day of winter activities we have a fireplace in our sitting room and the kids can retire to the bedroom with their own tv and two queen beds (where they can order a kids movie or a video game). While my wife and I sit on the pull-out couch enjoying the fireplace and the view. Don’t forget we have a whirlpool tub in the bath as well. (AHHHHH!!)

santanoni-suite.jpg

As you can see these two families pretty much have the same ideas; just different rooms that they like. For further information about these rooms please visit our website www.golden-arrow.com. I am sure all of our guests will enjoy the wintry conditions and all of the great rooms we offer. Well, this guy is headed out to make SNOW ANGELS!!

OH! If any of you have a particular room that you love and have had a great experience in; please write it down and give us your opinion! We would like to hear from you.

From all of us at the Golden Arrow and our two feuding families have a great and wonderful HOLIDAY SEASON!!!

Resort Improvements

Monday, December 10th, 2007

golden-arrow-winter-scene.jpg

Hey, everyone it was a very short time but MR. FIX-IT is back with another update of more resort improvements. Yes, we are like busy little bees, buzzing all over making all these exciting changes. For the past few weeks I have been busy working with my crew in the lobby area of the resort. We have been scraping off the old wallpaper and adding some new and exciting shades of color to make this area feel more like home.

Since, we had decided to make these changes back almost a year ago, I have been racking my brain looking for the perfect tile to place on the tiled floor of the lobby area. We have not made this change as of this day. But, while we were in the lobby deciding on possible samples a very nice gentleman stopped by and provided some great suggestions and offered some samples of his that would be perfect for this project.

I would like to take this time to thank MICHAEL FROM ROMA TILE for sending us the samples that we needed. We have made our decision based on these samples and going with a great design for this tiled floor. (I am so greatful that Michael took the time out of his vacation to offer this great suggestion)! HATS OFF TO YOU AND KUDOS!

This project is close to completion and when it is finished, I will be sharing with you the new look of the lobby area. For further info or pics of the resort please visit us at www.golden-arrow.com. Also, do not want to forget and mention that one of our store fronts in the new expansion area will be opening its doors in a few days. JUST BEAD IT! has joined our list of shops and will be opening its doors in the new location very shortly. We are all very excited. (well back to work for this ole man; the days are shorter but my work is never finished)

Please if anyone would like to give any suggestions about any possible improvement ideas or comments about the new improvements that we are doing; please drop us a line and who knows we might just post your comments!!!!

Thanks again to Michael for the tile selection it is greatly appreciated. Good nite all I am outta here!

BUILDING BUILDING BUILDING!!!

Its been a long few months but MR FIX-IT here has finally got some long awaited update pictures of the expansion project that has been taking place. It has been long and exhausting believe me. I am tired just thinking about it but what is a man to do LOL!

The roof has been put in place and the 2 storefronts are getting their nice detailed craftsman work and should be filling in very soon. (Of course, this handy man always gets the job done lickty split at least that is the way I feel)! But enough about me and let me show you how this project has progressed.

Please click on any image to enlarge.

So, how does everyone like the progress that is coming along. The two storefronts are coming along nicely (if I say so myself, boy I do such good craftsman work) and the shops will be entering there hopefully within a few months. Well, this sore and tired body has got to get some rest (YAAAWWWNNN!!) so everyone have a great evening and I will update you on the inside progress of this project in the near future.

SWOOSHING ACROSS THE ICE!! SNOW FALLING ALL AROUND!!

skating.jpg

Hey, everyone its that time of the year again. Time to break out the ice skates because the season has begun. Of course this is your FAVORITE NEWSCASTER RICH coming to you live from the Olympic Speedskating Oval and boy is the ice being carved up. Just this weekend of Dec. 1st the great people of ORDA got the ice frozen on the outside oval just in time for everyone to put their skates on and glide over the ice.

figureskating.jpg

For those of you who do not know about this, every year during the day or evening for two hours, people for a small fee can skate around the oval and listen to great music or chit chat with their friends. (Of course, this clutz will be seen more on his rump than on his feet haha)! But for all of you great skaters please help me up if you see me on the ground. God Bless you. Please visit this venue for a great wintery skating time. For further info about this venue and other great venues in the Olympic Region please visit www.orda.org.

If anyone has any great experiences of this skating venue please drop us a line and who knows you might see your post online. Well, this boy is gliding out of here, until next time have a great and wonderful holiday season. Chow!
