To the Golden Arrow Hotel Management and Staff:
On Tues. Aug 24th, my wife and I returned for a short stay at the Golden Arrow. Our prior stay had been on Aug. 24th, 1965 as part of our wedding trip. We decided to revisit the Golden Arrow as we were celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary. What a wonderful stay we had this visit, possibly even better than our first stay. As always the views of the lake are the best from the Golden Arrow and no one could expect anything better from the staff. We felt that every staff member was trying to make our stay a perfect one. The people at the reception desk were great with their welcome and we do not know who to thank for the room upgrade, the bottle of wine, the photo notes, the chocolates and other items in the little bag; we appreciate all these items. Our short stay was a delightful and our return will be soon; thanks to everyone at the Golden Arrow Hotel. Hope to see you all soon.
Thank you,
The Nelsons

I just wanted to share with you and your team how happy we are to have spent some vacation time at the Golden Arrow. Our room was comfortable and quiet. The facility was impeccably clean. I loved the lake and the boating amenities you provide to the customers. The Generations restaurant was pleasant and the employees were all very friendly.
I would and have recommended your hotel to all of my friends and relatives and I would not hesitate to return in the future.
Thank you for making our visit a very memorable one.

I want to commend you on your facility and staff it was all excellent through my entire stay.
The room and location, pool area, lounge, exercise gym, beach, parking, and mall excess was all first class. Plus the restraurant “Generations” was beautiful and the food was especially I enjoyed – one of your famous omlets with fresh fruit what a surprise everything was excellent. The minute from checking in at the reception desk I could tell I was in a warm, and friendly and first class resort. Especially I want to commend your staff – everyone was more than willing to help with any questions or directions and they all had a smile on their faces no matter what time of day it was. I stayed in Room 217 and I truly want to commend our housekeeper – she was excellent (sorry I failed to get her name) but she was soooo pleasant and did an excellent job and always was friendly, more that willing to help with anything and always had a big smile on her face. I just wanted to “Thank You” all for such a very good job.
My next trip to Lake Placid will without hesitation be spent at your resort and I am telling everyone I know to go spend at least a weekend there with all of you.
Thank you sooo very much – I truly enjoyed it, Susan

The indoor pool was also a big hit because it was so cold outside and we could not really enjoy walking along Main Street with the kids. This offered us something to do besides sitting in the room with the 2 yr. old going stir crazy.

We stayed there this past weekend and could not of have more accommodated. Everything was perfect, the room was clean and comfortable, quiet. The staff was very gracious and helpful and the view was awesome.
This was our first time, and I am going to make attempts to come here again.
Thank you for making our 21st wedding anniversary a memorable stay.

My wife and I have spent a great deal of time over the past 35 years camping in the Adirondacks/Lake Placid region of New York State. When we are not camping, we like to stay in a warm and friendly place. Therefore we always stay at the Golden Arrow. It is family run with the family very visible in Lake Placid, New York, the site of the 1932 and “the miracle on ice hockey team” of the 1980 Winter Olympics. The family and its staff makes us feel at home. You go out of your way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. No request is too big. Your slogan is “The only thing we overlook is the lake.” That is so true. We would like to pick up your hotel and staff, put it in our suitcase and take it wherever we travel.

My partner and I stayed at your resort a couple of years ago in the summer, and our experience was so good, we are coming back for Christmas this year! I work for a hotel company and frequently train front line groups in improving their customer service skills and have used an experience from your hotel as an example of stellar customer service. One particular moment was the pinnacle of our stay and one that I will never forget.
We got up in the morning and prepared to go out and sit by the lake to read for a while; when we walked out of our room, there was a room attendant with her cart there. She greeted us, and we replied, ready to continue on our way. She pulled out a daily sheet to share with us the estimated temperature of the day and what a wonderful sunny one it would be. She then continued to tell us that when we needed fresh towels to plop the old ones in the basket, to which she pointed, and beside it to pick up new ones. Also if we got bored with sitting in the sun, she believed that there was still a band playing in the town sqaure that was free so that we could go down there and enjoy music for a while. She ended her 20 second chat with “Oh, it looks like you are going to have a wonderful day, do enjoy it!”. There were shivers up my spine to think that a normally quiet room attendant would be so friendly and gregarious! As a trainer of hospitality of many years, it almost brought tears to my eyes. Clearly this family has done wonders to keep their associates focused on the customer and realize who really pays their salary.
Your guestrooms, services, facilities, and amenities and outstanding (and makes me proud to stay with a GREEN hotel!), which would make me choose you again – what sealed the decision was this 20 second conversation. Her engagement of us as guests made me want to enjoy your resort as often as possible!
I can’t wait to see the new restaurant and experience the new pool facilities. Thank you for setting the new standard for customer service!
To those who have not chosen a location for Lake Placid, don’t look any further – this is better than home!

I want to take a few minutes to thank you for your great hospitality this past weekend. My family and I arrived Saturday morning and was upgraded to the Cloudsplitter Suite due to lack of availability due to hockey teams in-house. The room was amazing. This was our first overnight trip with both our 2 yr old and 3 month old. Because of the king bed and the wood fireplace (and the light snow falling over the lake) my wife and I were able to share some romantic time after the kids fell asleep. Our 2 yr old slept in the trundle bed for his first time ever in an adult bed. He was so excited that he didn’t have to sleep in a Pack N’ Play like his baby brother. He is now a “big boy” because he slept in a “big boy” bed. The room was a hit with everyone in our family.
The indoor pool was also a big hit because it was so cold outside and we could not really enjoy walking along Main Street with the kids. This offered us something to do besides sitting in the room with the 2 yr. old going stir crazy.
Again, thank you to you and your staff who helped us have a great weekend. It could have easily gone the other way with the weekend ruined. This was our second stay at the Golden Arrow, and because of the hospitality we received this weekend, will not be our last. We will also be sure to tell friends about your wonderful resort.
Working in a customer service oriented industry I know that we rarely get to hear the praise because it’s easier for people to give us the negatives. That’s why I wanted to make sure to let you know of our great experience.
Happy Holidays!!

Dear Golden Arrow:
Thank you for the most memorable “Skate America”. Due to your lovely rooms and wonderful staff we felt like we were staying at a home away from home. We appreciated the kindness of your staff driving us to the arena and back “home” again-they were true life savers! Thank you again for all your kindness.
Sincerely,
Ms. Kamps

I just wanted to send a few lines to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay at your hotel (room 515 10/13-10/15, 2009). The room was clean and beautiful and the staff was very friendly and helpful. As soon as I can get a few more days off, I hope to return again.
Thank you
