CINDY YOUR EFQ is already back with another great idea that hoping everyone will participate in. World Wildlife Fund has come up with an interesting and great way to make a statement about climate change and to find solutions and protect our environment. This historic event is called EARTH HOUR!!! (my petals are getting goosebumps from this great event).

I am sure everyone is wondering what is Earth Hour? Earth Hour is a global event created to symbolize that each one of us, working together, can make a positive impact on climate change. This will be taking place on Saturday March 28th, 2009 from 8:30pm to 9:30pm. We are asking everyone to do something very simple. Just turn off your lights for one hour during this period. This bold statement will be made by tens of millions of people and this gal is hoping you will be one of them.

If you are planning on making your trip to the Golden Arrow in Lake Placid this weekend, plan on shutting those lights off for one hour. Being the eco-friendly resort that we are, yours truly, has asked everyone to follow this simple procedure. Well, I am off to spread this “green” aspect to all of our friends in the Lake Placid village. Thank you everyone in advance for supporting this great environmental idea!!!

CINDY YOUR EFQ is buzzing with excitement as this year’s Earth Day is rapidly approaching. This “green” amazing eco-friendly day is right up our backyard at the Golden Arrow. For those of you who do not know what I stand for, I am the environmental friendly queen at this green resort in Lake Placid. Moi, stands for everything green and looks for different ways to help out this great earth we live on. What better way to celebrate than to acknowledge EARTH DAY!!!

This year, my little green friends, Sierra and Vern (not to be confused with Fern…hehe) will be holding the 2ND ANNUAL KID’S EARTH DAY. This event will be held on Earth Day April 22nd from 11am-3pm.> It will feature lots of activites for the children to get involved and educated in helping save this great planet. New this year my clever gals will be having an E-SWEEP. (My little leaves are all a shiver with this new concept).

We will be holding a variety of events for children to participate in including making pin wheels out of recycled paper, magazine holders and marble earth paintings. New this year we will be holding an E-Sweep. Good Point Recycling will come and collect all of our and your old electronics. Anything that plug-ins will be accepted.
We will try to hold this outside, being that Mother Nature is on our side (Don’t worry girls this EFQ has talked to the ole gal and bringing you nice sunny weather). If the weather doesn’t cooperate it will be held in one of our meeting rooms.

For more information about our Earth Day Activities or our E-Sweep please contact Sierra or Veronica at 518-523-3353.

Thanks in advance girls for all of your hard work and I so look forward to having a spectacular green Earth Day. Everyone bring your children to Earth Day at the Golden Arrow and I look forward to seeing each and everyone there.

NCAA Men’s Ice Hockey

ICE! ICE! BABY! HOCKEY IS BACK!

Okay! Hockey fans of all ages! Lets get ready to rumble! Have I got some exciting hockey action that is headed to the Lake Placid area in the Herb Brooks Arena. There will be sticks and pucks slapping the ice (maybe a few teeth as well..ouch), as some very talented college men take the ice. This should be a great adventure in Lake Placid that any hockey guru would enjoy.

RICH YOUR SPORTSCASTER has been taking a little sabatical from all the events from February and ready to take to the Ice in the Olympic Center (my feet needed the must rest from Feb. my blisters were getting blisters..lol). Anyway, back to the reason we are here, great hockey action. Lake Placid is hosting the 2009 NCAA DIVISION III MEN’S HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIPS. This event will be taking place Friday March 20th and Saturday March 21st inside the Lake Placid Olympic Center. As the teams are still preparing for who is going to be the Final 4, I will not have any information for at least another week on these chosen teams. But rest assured as soon as I know, all of my peeps out there will be informed. While you are waiting check out this Youtube link of the NCAA championships.

Now is the time to book those accommodations in Lake Placid before you miss out on your favorite college team. Definetely a must see event! I suppose it is time to get my skates on and check out some local competition (maybe this time I will not be hit in the head with a puck….maybe) Hope to see you there!
