The Adirondacks and Lake Placid have been transformed for the past few weeks into an artists’ colorful canvas. What are you doing for the upcoming holiday weekend? Well, hop into the vechicle and either head across the border to the US or take a short stoll north to the Golden Arrow and check out the fall foliage. RICH YOUR NEWSCASTER here letting you all know that the 10th annual FLAMING LEAVES FESTIVAL will be taking place this weekend at the Ski Jumping Complex. (no they are not setting leaves on fire or performing any rituals..lol) As their theme goes for this event it is all about the BLUES, BREWS AND BBQ’S! It will feature Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined Ski Jumping. Great time for all of you from the north of the border celebrating your Thanksgiving and all of you in the states celebrating the Columbus Day weekend to enjoy!
This annual two-day event has something for everyone in the family – from watching the best ski jumpers in North America compete, live blues bands, tempting barbeque and great brews, inflatables, games, craft vendors and more – all with unparalleled views of the Adirondacks and the peak fall foliage. 2010 Vancouver gold medalist Billy Demong will be among those competing in this fun and exciting festival. Take a chair lift or elevator to the top of the famed 120 meter ski jump for some of the best views in the Adirondacks during the peak fall foliage. This exciting event will take place Saturday October 9th and Sunday October 10th from 9am to 5pm.
Now is the time to catch your last look at the breath taking foliage before mother natured shakes her head and drops all that wonderful white powder on us. What better way than to check out the panoramic views from the top of the Ski Jumps (Do not get too dizzy from the high scenery..it is breathtaking). PLEASE DO NOT WANT TO MISS IT!
