Foliage in time for the Holiday Weekend

Thinking about taking a trip this long weekend, whether you are celebrating Columbus Day or Canadian Thanksgiving, then the time is now to head to Lake Placid and the Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort.  The Adirondacks and Lake Placid have been transformed for the past few weeks into an artists’ colorful canvas.  Hop into the vechicle and either head across the border to the US or take a short stoll north to the Golden Arrow and check out the fall foliage. RICH YOUR NEWSCASTER here letting you all know that the 11th annual FLAMING LEAVES FESTIVAL will be taking place this weekend at the Ski Jumping Complex. (no they are not setting leaves on fire or performing crazy rituals..lol) As their theme goes for this event it is all about the BLUES, BREWS AND BBQ’S! It will feature Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined Ski Jumping. Great time for all of you from the north of the border celebrating your Thanksgiving and all of you in the states celebrating the Columbus Day weekend to enjoy!

Flaming Leaves Festival

This annual two-day event has something for everyone in the family – from watching the best ski jumpers in North America compete, live blues bands, tempting barbeque and great brews, inflatables, games, craft vendors and more – all with unparalleled views of the Adirondacks and the peak fall foliage.  Take a chair lift or elevator to the top of the famed 120 meter ski jump for some of the best views in the Adirondacks during the peak fall foliage. This exciting event will take place Saturday October 8th and Sunday October 9th from 9am to 5pm.

Do not let the stories of Hurricane Irene get you down and change your travel plans.  The foliage is very nice and all roads lead through the Adirondacks and to the Lake Placid area.  What better way to check out that foliage than to check out the panoramic views from the top of the Ski Jumps (Do not get too dizzy from the high scenery..it is breathtaking). PLEASE  YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS IT!
