RICH YOUR NEWSCASTER AND NEWLY APPOINTED TOUR GUIDE is here to ease those traveling and where to go questions. (yes they have donned me with yet another hat and responsibility…and I love every minute of it!) Well, first off during the summer season you must partake in the Tour Boat Cruise on Lake Placid. You can cruise the pristine waters of Lake Placid for 16 miles on this narrated hour long tour. You will get the history and scenic wildlife of this interesting Lake. It is a relaxing tour that you will not want to miss. For further information about time and rates please give them a buzz at 518-523-9704. (I will see you there resting my wiery toes..hehe).

If that is not your cup of tea then let me take you over to the Adirondack Scenic Railroad here in Lake Placid. That is right! We have our very own Railroad that goes from here to Saranac Lake and there is fun and excitement for all ages. You can relax on the train and on Thursdays taste your favorite wines while enjoying the great views. If that was not enough there is even fun for the children. On Wednesdays in July and August hop on the magic train where Box Car Benny will entertain. ALL ABOARD!!!

Finally, for those of you who like to listen to great music. All summer long in the Bandshell Park in downtown Lake Placid during the week you can catch the LAKE PLACID SINFONIETTA. That is right sit back on the lawn or on a park bench and hear an eclectic array of music. You never know what you are going to catch. (I can just hear those great tunes in my head now and no I am not going crazy).

I hope that this will give you a few ideas on what not to miss in Lake Placid. Stay tuned because through this season and next this tour guide will walk you through on what not to miss in the area. Have a great summer everyone and I will see you somewhere in my travels.
