Great Weather and Excitement

As you are all packing up for this long Labor Day weekend, do not forget to pack the sunscreen. Lake Placid is expecting great sunny warm weather this weekend. Mother nature has been kind this entire week (hooray, no rain finally) and is offering 70 degree temps all weekend. Do not pack up those swim trunks and bathing suite just yet!!! The end of the summer is looking better than ever!

RICH YOUR NEWSCASTER here in downtown Lake Placid at the Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort. Throwing a few words your way, once again, about all the exciting events to enjoy on your Labor Day Weekend. I know have mentioned for last couple weeks but need to make sure you are all well informed. The weather is nice and makes for a perfect day to head over to the OLYMPIC JUMPING COMPLEX for the 2ND ANNUAL IRISH FESTIVAL. Plenty of Irish flair for everyone! Music galore, Celtic dancers, Irish fiddlers games such as Tug of War and the Keg Toss, as well as many vendors selling all kinds of goodies! (My fav part will be all of the Irish ale…hopefully I will not have too much…but hey its an Ireland Festival…hehe). This takes place Saturday Sept. 5th from 10am-6:30pm and on Sunday Sept. 6th from 10am-5:30pm. For further information about this festival please visit

Not your cup of tea then head over to the OLYMPIC CENTER where the ISU JUNIOR GRAND PRIX SKATING COMPETITION is well under way. Plenty of talented young figure skaters still competing to win gold in this figure skating competition. There is also an Auto Show taking place on the outside speed skating oval for all of you automobile enthusiasts!

So, as you can see, plenty of fun and entertainment for the entire family this great sunny weekend. Pack those bags according to the weather and have a pleasant trip and weekend in Lake Placid! I will see everyone in a few weeks as time for myself to take a much deserved week vacation. (At least in my mind…hopefully everyone else feels the same…lol). I am outta here and off to enjoy the sun. Chow!
