The events just keep on rolling along in the Lake Placid area. That is right the excitement continues and RICH YOUR NEWSCASTER keeps bringing you all that is happening in this wonderful town. As the festivities of the Fourth of July approach so does the annual I Love BBQ Festival returning to the Olympic Region. That is right this festive event will bring teams of barbeque culinary genius’s to the region to participate. They will try and be the best barbequer in the region. There will be also arts and crafts, music entertainment and plenty of activities for the children to enjoy.
(I am sure MADAME CUISINE from Charlie’s will be bringing some delectable delights that way!) Speaking of the girl here she is now!

PLANTS THIRVING AND ENERGY BEING SAVED!

Words cannot express the exhilaration and excitement that we are experiencing at the Golden Arrow. CINDY YOUR EFQ on site where are great and fabulous GREEN ROOF has been installed. It has been a long time coming but just last week the crew installed this roof and the plant life is just blooming. What a nice site to see from Charlie’s dining room, to look out of the window and see all the lush plantation. (This girl cannot contain herself anymore, I just want to yell for joy how much energy this roof will allow us to conserve.) It will allow the resort to be cooler in the summer and save all kinds of heat in the winter season. Also, the oxygen being released by these plants will help reduce our carbon footprint. (This is great and I am sure all of you will love to see this beautiful scenery outside the window of Charlies.

RICH YOUR NEWSCASTER letting all of you spring travelers know about the opening of the spectacular WHITEFACE MOUNTAIN VETERANS MEMORIAL HIGHWAY. This will officially open this Saturday May 17th and stay open for the season until mid-October. I cannot wait to drive up to the top of the highway and see on a nice clear day the spectacular views of the region. For guests who have never drove up this highway, when you reach the top there is a stone castle that you can get out and go to the top of this stoney site. YOU WILL NOT WANT TO MISS IT!!!!! Who knows you might even wanna take a ride with your mountain bike up this steep mountain (not for me). For futher information about pricing and times of operation please visit www.whiteface.com.

Also, please do not forget to visit the Ski Jumping Complex where you can take the elevator to the top of the 120M tower. Very nice view! CINDY YOUR EFQ(Environmental Friendly Queen) is still buzzing from this past Earth Day’s Children Program. Lots of children showed up to help celebrate this glorious day and make the earth just a little more Greener. There were kids of all ages participating in all of the great activities and having a blast doing it. I am sure they learned a lot about the environment as well gave back at the same time. (OH! how this makes me feel warm inside to see the next generation protecting our mother earth!!).

I cannot wait now for the ECO-FAIR that is going to be happening toward the end of May. The great news and excitement keeps coming and coming. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK EVERYONE!!! I want to give a special thanks to VERONICA AND SIERRA for throwing this great KIDS EARTH DAY PROGRAM!!! Do not let me forget SUNNY and all the hard work she is putting in for the ECO FAIR!!! You girls are awesome!!!

ARTS! CRAFTS! FINGERPAINTS! HELPING HANDS FOR THE ENVIRONMENT!

Wow! Hard to imagine but Spring has Sprung and I want to tell you about the exciting Eco event that we are holding. CINDY YOUR EFQ here buzzing from limb to limb about the exciting children event being held on EARTH DAY. We are hosting our first ever KEEPING IT GREEN-KIDS ACTIVITIES WORKSHOP. Showing the children how to have fun while protecting and recycling products to save this great land that we live in. (Oh my! I am beaming from ear to ear to be participating in this fabulous event). I know of one child who is giggling with glee about this event for the children. So, I will hand over the keyboard and let Little Z tell you about the activities.

Tank you Miss EFQ Lady! i cannot believe my little eyes about this great event. If the wether is nice we will have booths set up outside for all diffrent fun events. There will be bird feeder making out of pine cones. (That is so fun YEAH!). Also, we get to plant herb seedlings in tin cans and finger painting (my fav messy) of this great earth. So, much fun and educating at the same time I cannot wait. Well, EFQ lady i have to head to bed and cannot wait for Earth day.

This Keeping it Green event will take place Tuesday April 22nd, 2008 from 11am to 2pm weather permitting outside and if not in one of our fabulous meeting rooms. CLEAN! CLEAN! WOW VERY NICE!!

Hey everyone! This is CINDY THE EFQ(Environmental Friendly Queen) who is beaming from ear to ear about the great prestigious award that one of our own has received. Kudos and hats off to our very own Cindy Bova who has won the Best Room Cleaner award in New York State. She was nominated for her outstanding room cleaning and attention to details a few months ago. Now, we are proud to say that she has won this prestigious award.

This is a yearly award that is granted to an outstanding housekeeper/room cleaner who shows all the qualities of what it takes to provide great customer service and great room service through out the year. NYS HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM ASSOCIATION awarded this great honor to Cindy because of the recommendation of the Holderied family. (I am all fuzzy inside that we have such great people working at the Golden Arrow).

TRICKS! HOOPS! AND SWOOSHES!

As promised, RICH YOUR SPORTSCASTER coming to you about the exciting upcoming event during the President’s Holiday Week. The exciting and exhilarting HARLEM GLOBETROTTERS are coming to Lake Placid at the Olympic Center. Thats right those daredevil and performers of the hoops will be strutting their stuff at our very own Olympic Oval. See these guys perform their basketball trickery right in front of your very eyes. This is an event the children will not want to miss. (Hey, even I wish that they would let me get in on the action. I can spin a basketball on my finger so who knows they might volunteer me to join in a trick. Guess I can dream!)
