GOLFING GOLFING AND MORE GOLFING!!! DID WE MENTION GOLF?!
Okay! As the title mentions, it is golf season in Lake Placid and the question of the hour is….Where are your golf clubs? Did you misplace them or just give up on that slice all together? (Shame on you, dust off those clubs) Now is the time to head to Lake Placid and join in a few rounds of golf. The summer has finally kicked into gear. No rain, beautiful warm sunny days and the grass on the courses are greener than ever and waiting for you to tee off! To tie into this season, your very own gal who likes to make deals, MS. DEALMAKER is back to offer two great summer packages.
Lets start off with THE SUMMER EAGLE golf package. (I know play on words..but I love it so..hehe) This golf package is available during a midweek stay Sunday through Thursday evenings. Sorry, not available on weekends or Special events. Based on double occupancy for $259 per person, this package includes two nights lodging and 18 holes of golf each day (cart included) at
either The Whiteface Club & Resort or CraigWood Golf Course. Our Guests are welcome to play on this package at The Lake Placid Club Mountain Course for an additional $5 per person, per round surcharge or the Saranac Inn Golf Club for a $20 surcharge per person, per round.
The lodging is in one of our Spacious Deluxe Guest rooms with two double beds. Yes, a great saving to entice you to the Lake Placid region.
Not up for golfing every day while your in Lake Placid and feel like you need to take in some of the glorious views and sites. (Don’t blame you, my little arm gets sore after 18 holes). Well, of course the dear of deals has a package just for you as well. I have the HIT THE GREENS ADD-ON PACKAGE. Unfortunately, it does not include a room that would be separate. Sorry! For $70 per person you can Add this package on to any guest room. This includes a round of golf (cart included) to either Whiteface Inn or Craigwood Golf courses and a delicious breakfast in the morning to our very own GENERATIONS restaurant. This package may be added on even during the weekends.
Come on everyone! Locate those clubs and work on perfecting that golf swing! Drive or bike on over to Lake Placid and the Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort to enjoy a relaxing day of golf. FLOWERS ARE BLOOMING! GRASS IS GROWING! CURIOUS GEORGE IS IN TOWN?!
RICH YOUR NEWSCASTER back at you and looking forward to the upcoming MEMORIAL WEEKEND. Spring has been in the air for weeks and the warmer temps have been very refreshing (been working on the tan but seems to be burning more than anything..lol). Since the following weekend the temps have been in the 70’s and by midweek and weekend they are going to top in the 80’s (Yay! Time to break out the shorts and the swimsuits…brrr kinda cold in the lake for that..but hey to each there own)!!
Just wanted to touch base with all of you out there in cyberland and say that it is going to be a great weekend to be in Lake Placid at the Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort. Our paddleboats, canoes, kayaks and rowboats have been placed on our white-sanded beach. The major golf courses in the area Craigwood, Lake Placid Club and Whiteface Inn have all fresh greens and those dreaded sand traps. Our very own MS. DEALMAKER touched base with all of you a while ago about the great GOLF PACKAGES that we have to offer. God bless our deal-makers heart for all the great savings. Or if swinging the ole club is not your forte, then strap on the hiking boots and head to the picturesque views from the Mount Marcy are or grab your fishing pole and head to the Ausable River.
  
Do not forget that officially the WHITEFACE VETERANS MEMORIAL HIGHWAY has opened to drive to the top of Whiteface. Great views from miles around that are absolutely breath-taking.
Do not forget!!! That little curious monkey and his Yellow-hatted friend will be visiting Lake Placid this Memorial Weekend. Of course, I am talking about none other than Curious George! That is right. From May 28th through the 30th CURIOUS GEORGE LIVE will be holding their performances in the Herb Brooks Arena at the Lake Placid Olympic Center. All of Curious George’s pals will be frolicking and having a jolly ole’ time. This is surely a must see for your family and friends; perfect oppurtunity to relive your childhood story book friend. Have not purchased your ticket as of yet? Well, contact the Golden Arrow for a special Curious George package for this occassion!
As you can see the weather is looking gorgeous and plenty of activities to enjoy while in Lake Placid. Time to pack up the kids and head to Lake Placid this Memorial Weekend. You will be glad you did. Time for this boy to head over to the golf course and practice my golf swing. (Such, a wicked slice I have to get corrected or I will never be able to compete in the majors..lol) Until then have a great upcoming weekend.

BIRDIES! EAGLES! HOLE IN ONE! DO NOT FORGET THE DREADED SANDTRAPS!
Okay! What do all of these words have in common? Hmmm!!! Let me think about this one. **jeopardy music plays** Golf of course (silly)! Now that the snow is gone and the lakes are unfrozen, the golf courses in the area have been cleaning up and getting ready for this upcoming season. What better to way to save money and golf in Lake Placid then to take part in the Golden Arrow’s superb SPRING GOLF PACKAGE!
You guessed it! MS. DEAL-MAKER is back and ready to unveil this year’s spring golf package. (Personally, I am very excited as this gal loves to swing the clubs and beat out all the competition on the fairways…quite the competitive girl here so watch out..hehe) I have been watching for the past few days the weather warm up nicely and see all of those avid golfers on the driving ranges getting ready for the season to begin. From the voices of the golf world in this area, Whiteface Inn will be opening their fairways this coming April-May weekend!!!
Without further ado, I introduce our SPRING BRINGS THE BIRDIES midweek golf package. Of course, would not want to leave out the LP Club Mountain Course, if you would like to play on this green it would be just an additional $5 per person surcharge. So, many choices that you may have to stay for several days to play them all and we welcome everyone with open arms!!!

Okay! As the title mentions, it is golf season in Lake Placid and the question of the hour is….Where are your golf clubs? The summer has finally kicked into gear. No rain, beautiful warm sunny days and the grass on the courses are greener than ever and waiting for you to tee off! Our three main golf courses in the area have boasted about how the rainy weather has given such green green grass that the golf balls will fly. To tie in with the summer golf season, your savings gal MS. DEAL-MAKER, wants to remind you of the two great golf packages that the Golden Arrow has to offer.
First of all we have a great midweek savings package for the month of August. This Summer Golf includes a 2 night stay in one of our Deluxe Guest rooms and you will receive 2 rounds of golf per person at either CRAIGWOOD, WHITEFACE INN OR LP CLUB MOUNTAIN COURSE. This package is for $259 per person and based on double occupancy. What a great deal!
Do not want to commit to 2 days of golf then look at our Summer Add-On Golf Package. For $65 per person add on to the price of any guest room a round of golf and breakfast in the morning at Charlie’s. This will sure get your clubs a swinging (myself I will probably be in the sandtraps and water fishing out my golf ball…this darn slice of mine..hehe).
Anyway, the weather is fine and it is time to make those reservations and tee times to head to Lake Placid. We have some of the best golf courses in the Adirondacks! Everyone enjoy the rest of the summer and check back for more great savings.

YAY! 2009 IS HERE!!!
Yes, it is hard to believe but 2009 has finally rung in. It was a very great year with all kinds of exciting events around the world and in our very own backyard in Lake Placid. RICH YOUR NEWSCASTER hopes that everyone enjoyed ringing in the New Year (I know this boy did-way too much cheer…lol).
On behalf of the Golden Arrow, I want to take this time to thank all of the patrons who have frequented our doors of the resort this year. We enjoyed each and everyone of our guests and look forward to another great year. You have helped us with many “Green” ideas for our Eco-Friendly resort and have taken them all into consideration. Our very own CINDY THE E.F.Q. has been busy organizing and implementing these ideas. The most exciting green event of the year was the instulation of our GREEN ROOF. Which many people have enjoyed this past year from the view of Charlie’s Restaurant.
Now that 2009 has begun, please check out all the great packages that MS. DEAL-MAKER has been busily working on. Just from looking at these deals they are definetely not to be missed. (We are all pulling for Ms. Deal-Maker to finally catch and snare Mr. Fix-IT….lol)

We are in the midst of the fall season and even though the leaves are changing, there is still time to hit the greens. Thats Right! The local golf courses are still filled with freshly groomed green grass perfect for the golfing enthusiast in all of you. (Do not forget the 19th hole is always up everyones fairway…hehe!)

WHERE ARE THE GOLF CLUBS!!!!
Even though there is so much to do in the Lake Placid region for the summer season, do not forget all the great golf courses in the area. Thats right and MS. DEAL-MAKER still has great packages all season long. (OH! I bet you forgot all about that! shame shame…just kidding)! But indeed I have an add on package to any room during the summer season. For an additional $60 per person per day you can have yourself a round of golf and breakfast in the morning. This also includes the use of a golf cart at any of the great golf courses in the area. These would be Craigwood, Lake Placid Club and Whiteface Lodge and enjoy a great breakfast at Charlie’s Restaurant or across the street at Soulshine Bagel.
What more could you ask for? Of course, a lot of hole in ones would be nice but we can dream I guess.
