Thats right equestrians from all over the world converge in Lake Placid for this week and for the following week to participate in this prestigous event. Speaking of which the second horseshow is the 39th Annual I Love NY Horseshow which takes place from July 1st to July 6th.

This is definitely a must see event for anyone who likes to watch individuals ride and jump their horses over all the barriers and obstacles. The children will be excited with joy to see all the proud and groomed horses. (believe me I am still a kid a heart and just love to watch all these gracious horses strutt their stuff). Words cannot express the exhilaration and excitement that we are experiencing at the Golden Arrow. CINDY YOUR EFQ on site where are great and fabulous GREEN ROOF has been installed. It has been a long time coming but just last week the crew installed this roof and the plant life is just blooming. What a nice site to see from Charlie’s dining room, to look out of the window and see all the lush plantation. (This girl cannot contain herself anymore, I just want to yell for joy how much energy this roof will allow us to conserve.) It will allow the resort to be cooler in the summer and save all kinds of heat in the winter season. Also, the oxygen being released by these plants will help reduce our carbon footprint. (This is great and I am sure all of you will love to see this beautiful scenery outside the window of Charlies.

Yes, even though the summer season is approaching, there is still Christmas in the surronding area at the NORTH POLE at SANTA’S WORKSHOP. For eveyone who does not know, there is a winter wonderland in the Wilmington region off of Lake Placid where Santa and all his friends hold a myriad of fun and excitement. Young children have enjoyed this place for years and years. They can pet one of Santa’s reindeer & other woodland friends, sing and dance with all of Santa’s friends and meet the BIG GUY himself. There is also all kinds of chidrens rides they will definately enjoy.

It has been a long time but this is MR. NEUTRAL finally back and here to tell you about an exciting update. I have for now gotten the PRO AND CON families in their corners and away from the constant bickering about room types. Its your “green” queen CINDY THE E.F.Q (Environmental Friendly Queen) reminding all you earth enthusiasts that the 1st annual Eco-Fair is coming this Saturday May 31st. There will be several vendors on hand showing how to protect the environment by using recycled glass, cans and other bio-degradable products. There will be nutritionists, green beauty products, energy saving at home vendors as well as live entertainment. (I am so excited to see so many individuals participating in saving this great environment of ours-I am all a flutter).

There will also be a magazine drop off so that everyone can recycle their old magazines. Many displays on what to do to protect our earth and plenty to purchase as well. Who knows you might see me buzzing around this fair to help out all the great vendors that are taking time to save the environment! So, rain or shine the Eco-Fair will go on and I am expecting each and everyone of you to stop by and partake in this event! (If not “mother nature” will frown and so will yours truly…hehe)

Its been a long year of construction but it is winding down to a close in the next few months. MR. FIX-IT here on site at the new WEST WING where my crew have been working long and hard hours to finish. It has been taking sometime but we are ahead of schedule and the rooms will be done for everyone to enjoy in the very close future. (My hands need the rest from all the pounding and sawing and building!!! Blister city OUCH!).

Anyway I am very pleased to tell you that we will have two new different specialty rooms. First of all we have our TABLETOP KITCHENETTE SUITE which will add even more kitchenettes to our resort. There will be three in the new wing and they will consist of the following arrangement. Kitchen with counter & two stools opens to living room with partial lake views & sleeper loveseat sofa. Bedroom with one king bed. (very nice i must admit). The next room option is our HAYSTACK SPECIALTY ROOM which I am sure all of you wanting a romantic evening will enjoy. There will be 4 in total and they consist of the following arrangements: one king bed, gas fireplace, lakeside, flat screen tv visible from bed & large jetted tub surrounded by cedar & lace in room. leather chair with ottoman. (OH how romantic). In addition we will be adding some more connecting rooms for all of you larger families.

This will officially open this Saturday May 17th and stay open for the season until mid-October. I cannot wait to drive up to the top of the highway and see on a nice clear day the spectacular views of the region. For guests who have never drove up this highway, when you reach the top there is a stone castle that you can get out and go to the top of this stoney site. YOU WILL NOT WANT TO MISS IT!!!!! Also, please do not forget to visit the Ski Jumping Complex where you can take the elevator to the top of the 120M tower. Very nice view!
